2 Injured At Car Wash Shooting

Two people are recovering at Allegheny General Hospital Friday morning after being shot with an assault rifle overnight.

Shots were fired at TP Qwik Car Wash on Campbells Run Road in Collier Township just after midnight. Police said the driver was shot in the shoulder. The bullet then passed through and hit the passenger in the calf. According to officials, they drove to Smoky Bones in Robinson Township for help. The victims’ names and conditions are not being released. Police do not have any suspects.

House Explodes In Brentwood

County police confirmed to Channel 11 there was a house explosion Tuesday along Tuxey Avenue in Brentwood.

Officials said there were injuries. One victim was taken to Mercy Hospital. A witness told Channel 11 he was in his yard when he heard the blast. The victim then ran out of his house and told the neighbor he thought his furnace blew. The victim had burns to his face and arms. The house was destroyed in the explosion. The cause of the explosion is not known.

Pittsburgh Crews Battle Apartment Fire

Part of Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg was shut down Wednesday morning as firefighters worked to bring flames under control at an apartment building.

The fire started around 8 a.m. on Penn Avenue between Wood and Center streets. Pittsburgh firefighters were called in to help battle the blaze. Fire crews were kept from going inside the building for fear of the roof collapsing. The fire chief told Channel 11 all 10 people living inside the building we able to make it out safely. Nearly a dozen people are homeless and several businesses are gone.

A fiery crash sent three people to the hospital and closed a busy Strip District road early Monday morning.

Man Killed In Elizabeth Township

Police are looking into a fatal shooting in Elizabeth. Investigators were called to the scene along Pitt Street around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The victim’s name has not been released. Police are not saying whether they have any suspects.

There’s a lot of talk about the action on the field at Steelers training camp but there’s also buzz about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s personal life. It seems Big Ben has a new girlfriend. Former “Heroes” actress Missy Peregrym has reportedly been traveling between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh to visit the QB. Pictures of the new couple enjoying a Pirates game have surfaced on several Web sites.

Charges To Come In Helicopter Collision?

Phoenix authorities said a man whose high-speed chase spurred the coverage that resulted in two news helicopters colliding and the deaths of all on board, may face charges in connection with the deaths.

The man fleeing from police was taken into custody by a SWAT team after barricading himself inside a house following the accident, police said. Police Chief Jack Harris suggested he could be charged in connection with the collision. Continue reading
